seed time and harvest

There is farm land along our road and I love taking pictures of it in all seasons.  I started taking pictures of this particular field in the spring of 2010 and took pictures at different stages through the year.

Ahhh.  Freshly tilled earth. Spring green. New growth.  May 28, 2010
This used to be strawberry fields but they were tilled up the previous fall.
There are new strawberry plants where the tractors are working.

June - the grain is growing taller.

It's August and the grain is ripening.  The large circles aren't 'crop circles'.
They were caused by very a heavy rain storm that flattend the crop in this pattern.

It's now late September and the field has been cut weeks before.
There is new grass starting to grow but it won't become another crop
before the cold and frost set in.

A blanket of snow covering the field recently.
In another two months the snow will start to melt and the sun will warm the earth.
New green shoots will push their way to the top reaching for the sun.
Life's cycle will start all over again.

As long as the earth endures,
seed time and harvest,
cold and heat,
summer and winter,
day and night
will never cease.
Genesis 8:22

Are you anxiously waiting for life's cycle to start over again?

Blessings,
Pamela

  2. What beautiful pictures and so different from Southern California where I live. We do have a change in seasons but it is slight compared to yours...and never any snow. Thank you for visiting me and leaving such a nice comment. (-:

  4. I love seeing this natural passing of the seasons, Pamela. It's very beautiful and reassuring – some things you can count on from year to year. Thank you for sharing!
