a surprise in the mail and a problem

A few weeks ago I won a giveaway at Kimberly's blog Cabin and Cottage and I received a surprise package in the mail this morning.

In the parcel was this totally Canadian shopping bag!  I mean, just look at the moose, beaver,
totem pole, logger on the river, maple leaves, a lighthouse (not visible) and inukshuk!
You can't get any more Canadian than that!

Kimberly also included a pretty bookmark and a teapot shaped teabag holder
along with her sweet note.  Isn't that teabag holder cute?

Kimberly is a fairly new blogger from the shores of Lake Superior in Ontario.
I found her through another blog, which I can't remember right now, and we
have become friends through this wonderful blogworld.

Her blog is so interesting with wonderful photos of life in the woods and on one
of the Great Lakes.  She even has black bears visiting her yard and garden
on a regular basis!

I want to thank you, Kimberly, for your friendship and for the sweet gift you sent
to me for your giveaway.

Now, this is where I have a problem.  I can't seem to figure out how to link another blog name on my post without putting the http:// stuff in front of it.  Another dear blogger, Cindy of Oakwood Cottage,
has sent me an email a while back explaining how but every time I try it just doesn't work.
So, I'm not the sharpest knife in the drawer folks!  :-)

So, here is the link to Kimberly's wonderful blog:

I do hope you will pay her a visit and become a follower.

Cindy's blog is:

Another problem I am need help with is grabbing a button from another blog.
(Sorry Cindy, I tried)
I'd like to have these buttons of my favorite blog parties on my side bar so
you can join in if you don't already.

Thanks so much Kimberly and Cindy for being such dear blog friends.
It's so nice to know that you and others are willing to help when one needs it!
Blessings and hugs!

Pamela

  4. To get the button I right click and inspect element, it will highlight part of it but you also have to get the line right above with the email on it ...copy and paste using the html in your design choices....there might be an easier way but this is how I do it....

  5. Here's how I add a link ...When you are composing your post, type your words, highlight the text you want to be the link, click the LINK at the top, a box pops up and you can see your text, then add the url you want in the box underneath. Practice that and then I let you know how to get the link to open in a new window so visitors don't leave your blog. Email me and I can help you.

  6. When I use a link in a post this is what I do:
Open the web page that you want to link to.
Right click on the address in the browser window.
    Select copy.
    Go back to your post.
Click the LINK button at the top.
Paste the address you just copied in the box that says "To what URL should this link go?"
Automatically whatever you paste into the URL box appears in the top box too.
DELETE IT and then type whatever you want in that box.
For example if I wanted to link to your blog I would put your URL in the one box and then "Pamela's blog" in the top box.
After you do it a few times it will get easier...I promise!

  7. Pamela
You are so sweet to show my gifts on your blog!
I didn't expect it, but do so appreciate it.
I hope you get the right answers to your questions-I know how frustrating it can be when you want to try something new and can't figure it out!
    Blessing to you-Kimberly

  8. What a wonderful gift! Sometimes getting things to show up correctly on my blog drives me nuts, too, so don't feel bad. I bet the instructions others have posted will work great!

  9. Oh dear, I'm sorry that I didn't explain it well enough. Or perhaps there is something wrong. I have done it just like I explained it many times, not sure what the problem would be. I did send you the youtube example didn't I?
Thank you for mentioning me, my friend.
    Love and hugs, Cindy
