lace and leaves

I was sitting at the dining table and looked out the window across the room.
The brilliant gold and orange leaves caught my eye.

They are falling fast as we've had several very windy days in a row.
I'll miss the golden glow they give to our living room.

Soon, they'll give way to barren branches reaching up to the sky.

Our beautiful autumn is fading much too quickly.

How is autumn where you live?
Are you still enjoying lots of colour?

Enjoy it while it lasts.

Blessings,

Pamela

  1. Really just started changing color here this week after some rain and cooler nights. Still in the 80's during the day. I sat out on the front steps this afternoon, writing some lists, but didn't last long, it was much too hot. The falling leaves seem to be more twigs with several leaves attached, making us leary as to what happened to these massive oaks during the very hot, dry Summer. Not many acorns either, last year millions fell!

I love your photo Pamela - that lace pattern is really exquisite.

  2. What a lovely photo! I love window shots and the lace curtains just enhance it! Just a little color starting here and 85 degrees!

  3. Oh what a nice calming photo...

Yes, I've loved the light and, yes, autumn is all too soon over. Still, we have green trees, naked trees, and trees with color so it's really unusual this year.

  4. Love the photo of the lace curtains and the autumn branches. Fall is going much too quickly here, too. It seems too soon to see the bare branches, and it will be a long time before we see leaves again. We've had very windy weather also for the last four days and forecast calls for more until at least Thursday.

I guess we had the gorgeous warm weather for the first part of October and I can't be greedy, but I'd sure like some more!

  5. Lovely picture, Autumn is settling in here too - we may get very cold weather later this week...it is happening way too fast!
Hope you have a great week,

  6. Fall is passing fairly quickly here, too. I took some photos and I can't find them, I hate to take any more.
Your photos from yesterday and today are beautiful!

  7. What a beautiful shot - reminiscent of a Wyeth painting.
There really wasn't much fall colour here this year, or any year, as we have few maples. Lots of green and gold and it's must not the same!

  9. Very lovely picture. Autumn is still going strong here, although yesterday was very windy so we may have lost a lot of leaves in that wind storm. We have lost our Indian Summer and the colder weather is starting to settle in. I am ready for winter! Diane

  12. The leaves are falling fast here too. Some windy days and cooler temperatures are very Fall like and when it rains I'm beginning to get that feeling of hibernation.

  13. Gorgeous image Pamela.

We had more color at the lake, than here at home, just 2 hours northeast, but we've had a change in the weather and expect color here soon. I don't think it will last long though.

  14. A lovely photo Pamela.
There is not much color here anymore. I have a bet with my SIL that it will snow before October is over. What do you think?

  15. I am from PA but live in NYC. I get to enjoy the leaves change only while in a park or manage to escape the city! My favorite time of year though.....
