red and white Christmas

a little bit of Christmas

Today is a cold and gray day and I decided it was a good day to cut some
pine, fir and cedar to put in the old milk can by the front door.
I also added some red dogwood sticks that I had cut the other day.

I did up my planter with greenery too but it will stay in the garage where it's
colder for another week.  We are going to have some warmer days again.

This is an old enamalware teapot that I put a foam oasis in and added some
real greenery and faux berries.

I have some friends that already have their Christmas trees up!

I think I'll wait another couple weeks to do that.

However, I hope to start decorating the living and dining rooms next week.

I absolutely love the scent of this candle!  Even hubby and son noticed it
and commented on the nice Christmas smell in the house.

Have you started to add a little bit of Christmas to your home yet?

Did you notice I changed my blog header?  I hope it's not too early to
put up a seasonal Christmas one.  I do love celebrating this beautiful season!

Thank you to all of you who follow me and leave a comment.
I have enjoyed getting to know so many of you and I love
and appreciate each one of you!

Blessings to you,

Pamela

  3. Oh I feel as if we need a little Christmas so this looks wonderful to me. This reminds me that I have to do some tipping soon because I don't like snow to come before I've done that. Perhaps my daughter will allow me to cut some more on her cedar tree. The arrangements are so pretty and the one in the enamel pot is sweet. Wasn't it brisk today? I'll be glad if we get back to the warmer temps of the past week.

  5. Your header is so pretty! I'll have to look for one of those candle decorations - my mum has a pair and they just say 'Christmas is here' when I see them. Your arrangement is lovely and has inspired me to think about what I'll do at the front door.

  7. Your header looks very pretty! I'm about ready to put away the fall decor and bring out the Christmas things. Your decor is looking great! I love to bring in cedar, etc and use around the house, too. I love the smell of cedar, it makes me think Christmas! Have fun decorating!

  9. Dear Pamela,
Thank you for all the time and effort you put into making such a beautiful blog....I wish I had more time for blogs, but when I do take the time, I always love visiting here...you are doing an amazing job!
    Love the new header also.
No, it is not too early. I was hoping to decorate the library for Christmas today but we were far too busy with patrons...soon though!
    Can't wait!
    Happy decorating!

  10. I noticed your new header, it is lovely! I haven't started my Christmas decor, but I have started thinking and planning. That's all for now, I will wait another week or so, my hubby doesn't care for it being around too soon. He doesn't love Christmas the way I do at all, in fact he could pass it by completely and it wouldn't bother him. As much as I love it, I find it be a very lonely holiday. My heart goes out to those who celebrate completely alone. My son and dil with their kids love it and they make it fun and happy.
    Hugs, Cindy

  11. Well it snowed here today so I have been gathering branches and boughs for my outdoors window boxes that I decorate every year. I figure that I will start there and work my way inside. I would not worry about your header though Pamela..it looks lovely. I do think I can imagine the smell of that candle though! I think I will find myself some Christmas scented candles too!

  16. Hello Pamela
The new header is festive. Canada might lag behind in many things but we do decorate early for Christmas.
I have started, pulled out all the winter decor of snowflakes, snowmen and penguins etc. The tree is an artificial table top silver tinsel and will be put in the living room soon.

  20. I'm not that stoked about the holiday season, as of yet, anyway... but I'll get there! Last year, my parents had been doing some clearing behind their farm & I made it just in time to snag some pine branches & cones... made my house smell oh, so good! That's what I need to do this weekend, that'll give me the fix I need to get started this year =)
