Remembrance Day Ceremony in Ottawa

Parliament Hill, Ottawa Ont. and the National War Memorial

I watched the Remembrance Day ceremony in our nation's capital on tv this morning.

The clock on the Peace Tower.

I thought I'd share a couple of collages of photos taken from the tv.

Faces of veterans.

We will remember them.

Blessings,

Pamela

We watched it too. It was a lovely tribute to Canada's veterans. Always brings tears to ones eyes. My Dad served on a Navy ship in WW2 in the Phillipines. He is 94 now.

  2. I've just visited a wonderful blog with Canadian soldiers discussing their WWII experiences. Very touching. It is unlikely that we had such a televised event in the US. I can't get over how quickly things are changing here. So glad that Canadians are still remembering. There's nothing much more touching than a Vet's face. They've seen so much and have that full measure of devotion to country and countrymen.

  3. We attended a service at an armoury this morning, with our 2 grandsons. It was beautiful, and the bands were outstanding. I couldn't help but think about those parents who lost sons who were not much older than our 2 guys...and those who faced terrible situations in war.

  4. Thank you for this meaningful tribute ! Remembrance Day is a special day to my family since my Grandpa participated in the Second World War ; he was known as a " little hero" and we will never forget his spirit and bravery as well as the sacrifice of all the great soldiers .

I look at all those elderly faces lost in time and wonder just what they are remembering....

  9. The collage of veterans is wonderful. We must always remember and it is always good to see Canada's youth involved through the contests the Legion sponsors each year across Canada. Thanks for sharing such great photos.

  10. Wonderful shots. I've been on Parliament Hill for Remembrance Day many times, and it was always with a lump in my throat.
