candle in the window

This is a two room school house near here with candles in the windows for Christmas.
It is home to the local historical society.

When driving down the road the other night at dusk, and without my camera, I
decided I needed to return on the next clear evening at dusk and get some photos.

The old country store has been restored on the site as well.

The United Church basking in the glow of the sunset.

Can you see the candles in the windows?

Farm silhouette against the sunset.

It's a gorgeous sunny and cold day here again today.

Have a beautiful day!

  1. Hello Pamela:
What wonderful images which so appropriately reflect both the time of year and the approach of Christmas which, for so many people in the Northern Hemisphere, is associated with snow.

  2. You share your corner of the world to a wonderful advantage. Is there anything more welcoming than a candle in the window? I don't think so! It warms me all the way down heah. =)

  3. Oh Pamela, every visit here is just so wonderful! What beautiful photos!! I love nothing better at Christmas than candles in windows. Just gorgeous and so Christmasy too. Thanks so much for your visits and kind words! I hope you are having a wonderful season!!

  4. Now that's the sort of Christmas light show that goes right to my heart!

  5. Gorgeous photos! I especially like the schoolhouse, having attended a country school. The candles in the windows really add to the beauty.

  6. Such beautiful photos! I really love the school, it reminds me of the one room country school I attended. Love the candles glowing in the windows. The church is a real beauty!

  8. I would love to tour the old schoolhouse... I love historic places like that!
Is that a barn in the farm silhouette? Do you mind if I post this on Barn Charm? =)

  9. Pamela I think these may be the nicest photos I've seen this December--they are so serene and stunning in their simplicity! Thanks so much for taking that extra trip back to photograph that school house!

  10. Pam, those are beautiful pictures. I also love the candles in the window of the old school house. You do a lovely job.

  15. Pamela, all these images are so wonderful! You have captured the Christmas spirit for sure! And you even had a little bit of snow. Good for you.

No snow here yet, unless you count the storm we had on Halloween. And that was a dozy!
