a little snowstorm

the snow making it's way up the river valley

I took this shot at about 4:15 this afternoon.

Predicted snowfall ~ 10 cm.

Winds out of the east.

Blowing and drifting possible.

wool throw in a basket

I have a lovely wool plaid throw handy to cover up
with while I read.  It'll keep me cozy and warm.

We are blessed to have our cozy homes ~ a shelter
in the time of storm.

Stay safe.

Blessings,

Pamela

  1. Oh you'll be all set! I've spent the day crocheting and am now baking molasses cookies because my darling reminded me that I had promised some time ago. I spent some time looking for the good old-fashioned soft molasses cookie that I am familiar with from childhood. Couldn't find it so we're having a chewier cookie the kind that cracks on the top. It's okay, but it's not the old fashioned kind.

  7. Yes, a warm cozy home is a blessing from above. I am so thankful for mine today. It was -19 C out today, I went for a walk and was so glad to reach home once again.
We got snow yesterday, but not nearly as much as you may get.
    Hugs, Cindy

  8. Oh my goodness, that throw reminds me of one that my mother brought back from Ireland one time. It was mohair, warm and we all used to sneak it up to our bedroom when my mom wasn't looking! ;) good memories. we got more snow this week too.

  12. Hi Pamela, we had a very cold and frosty night and another is predicted for tonight, but it is lovely and sunny here. I have just come back after a lovely morning with Harry so that has warmed me up. Love the blanket, just right to keep yourself warm when reading by the fire.

Heard on the news yesterday how bad the snow was in Alaska!!

Keep warm and safe and have a good weekend.Jackie in Surrey, UK.

  14. A cozy blanket, a good book, a warm fire and snowstorm soup simmering on the stove does make one happy to be home...The winds are strong today and it's plus 2 but tomorrow and the weeks to come will be a different matter. I can hardly complain after experiencing the warmest December in the 18 years we've lived here though! Keep warm!

  15. We were to have a snow storm today but so far is just a dusting. The temperature is dropping. I thought about a walk but maybe a book sounds better. V

I love your photo to the plaid throw in a basket. It's adorable.
We had a mini snow storm last night and later today it is going to rain... lots of fog, rather pretty.
