shadows

It's Mosaic Monday at Mary's Little Red House.

I went for a little walk with the dog and my camera on the weekend to take
some photos of the snow.

Sunday afternoon was bright and sunny and about -10 celsius.
A beautiful winter day!

It was a very cold early morning on Sunday with the temperature at between -20 and -27
depending on just where you live.  It was -20 at our house but on
our way to church it was -27 along the river.

I noticed one thing in common with each of these photos.

Shadows.

Wishing you a blessed week ahead.

Pamela

  3. A beautiful walk that I'm happy you shared with us. It is always fun to down load photos and *see* what's in them that I didn't notice when I took the photo! Love those shadows!

  4. I could gaze at your photos for a long time - they are full of the peace and quiet of a winter landscape. Still on the surface and full of mystery. Beautiful.

  6. The snow is so pretty, and I love the shadows too! I learned one thing though, don't photograph your shadow in the middle of the day when the sun is almost overhead. It's not an attractive shadow. LOL!

    1. I had on my lined gummies as they are the tallest ones I have and it's a good thing too as the snow was deeper than I thought! :)

Happy Monday! Your "shadow" photos are just beautiful. Cold here in Maine too but at least the days are getting a little bit longer.

    1. Sarah, thanks for all 3 of your comments! LOL We're thankful we don't have very many of those bitterly cold days here in our part of Canada!

  22. Pamela, your photos are lovely. It's always fun to see what you see in shadows you find in photos. It is bone-chilling cold here right now with the drizzly miserable rain, so your sunny snow photos bring cheer to this day! Also love your white pitcher. I have a collection--I am so drawn to them. The longer I read blogs the more I realize there are many who share the same interests! Happy Monday!

  24. Lovely photos Pamela - makes me keep on wishing for a wee bit of the white stuff. 65 here tomorrow - just doesn't seem like Winter still. We are lighting the fire as I write, haven't used hardly any of the woodpile this season, but still like to have one crackling when we want to sit down with a good movie.

    Keep warm there.
    Hugs - Mary

  25. Shadows in the snow are somehow so much more interesting than shadows on summer grass!
