winter wonderland.....again

Friday morning.  The calm before the storm.

Friday was a beautiful day - sunny, blue skies and mild.
The driveway was 'almost' bare with some icy patches.

Saturday morning

This is what we awoke to this morning.

Beautiful fresh snow and the sun trying to break through.
It's windy now and the snow is blowing off the trees.

The picnic table loaded like frosting on a cake.

This is how much we got.
On the left it's in inches.  On the right it's in cm.

One thing about snow this time of year is that it doesn't
last as long due to the warmer days and the bright sun.

We may will get more of these storms too, even in April.

Ontario and the Prairies got a lot of snow yesterday too.

Did you?

I hope you have a beautiful Saturday.

Blessings,

Pamela

P.S.

I decided to build a snowman this afternoon so I
could send a picture of it to our grandson.
It's actually a snowboy because the snow wasn't
packy enough to make a bigger one.

He looks like he fell into the spirea bush!

Vee at A Haven For Vee also built a snowperson
and she has some beautiful photos of today's snowfall
on her post.  I hope you'll go over and visit her and see
her cute snowperson.

Enjoy the snow!

  1. Yes, it snowed heavily last night and we probably got about the same as you. It is a white winter wonderland outside. I actually love the look of a fresh dump of snow, so pristine and beautiful. I might have to go for a walk and really take it all in. It is still snowing but lightly. Enjoy your weekend Pamela.

  2. Thanks for the details in both centimeters and inches. Much appreciated! You got far more than we did. I'm thinking about that snowman now. How about you? Any snowmen in your future?

  7. Hi Pamela
Do I detect some sighing during this post? We've been so spoiled with little snow this winter that when we do get it, we're not too happy. Wait until my complaining starts when we get back home. :-)

  8. I've made my snowman. If you get a chance, come see! He landed on the bottom of today's post. Making him was a lot of fun, too!

  9. Hi Pamela,
Well, your new blanket surely looks beautiful! Nice that it won't stick around long. We didn't get any, thank goodness! We have the strong winds though with sun right now. I'm so thankful that we didn't get the snow as it's much easier for my hubby when he's on the job. Hope you're having a nice weekend.

    Blessings,
    Sandi

  13. Excellent use of what you had on hand. Our snow is very sticky and perfect for snowman making. I hope that my grands have been out in it today. I'll find out soon as they're coming for supper tonight. Your grand will wonder what your snowman has been eating...something fluffy!

  14. We got a fair bit of snow on Friday, but not quite as much as predicted. I took some before and after photos too. I like your new colours and layout, easy on the eyes.

  18. So much snow! We didn't get any of the promised snow, and the sunshowers today were interspersed with watery sunshine.

  21. Hi Pamela - I think that snow made for a visual improvement on your driveway ! ;-)

We used to live in Alberta where 60 cm (24" on the old scale) was the norm in April and May - and also (thankfully) only lasted a week or so. We dodged this one, which did hit back home in Ontario, by being down south - no snow and 83 (also on the old scale).

    Enjoy your weekend.

  24. Oh my...it's sunny and almost 50 here today. I'm not sure we're ever going to get any measurable snow.
Here is a link to PBS.org where you can purchase the DVD's of Downton Abbey. http://www.shoppbs.org/product/index.jsp?productId=12264544&cp=2809871.11302190&ab=B1SpotDowntonCollection&parentPage=family

I think you can download and watch the episodes right on their website too. You may want to check into that as well. You will love it I promise!

  28. We got snow but not as much as you. It's going to be cold for awhile. We were so spoiled this year - the best winter ever in my opinion! Oh well it had to happen sooner or later so I suppose I'm not complaining!

  29. Pamela: It is easier for me to appreciate the snow images since I am here in Arizona basking in the sunshine and 80F. temps. The images are so peaceful winter is so quiet in the snow belts...after the storm.
Thank you for taking the time to leave a comforting comment on my post re: Kea. hugs

  31. Hi Pamela! You do have some of the most beautiful snow! It's all white and not nasty looking like so much of it is.
Your little snowman is adorable. Love his little twiggy eyes and mouth.
Thanks for popping in to see me and I'm glad to get back to Blogland.

  34. The snowboy is cute! We get snow here pretty regular....we won't melt down until April!
It's been mild here in northern Michigan. We've only gotten about 1/2 our normal snow amount but just the same we have plenty of snow on the ground! Your yard looks like mine!
I always say if its got to be winter we may as well have some snow on the ground!
