flight path

looking east

It's the first day of June.  A new month with new possibilities.
It's the month of summer, school ending, graduations,
vacation trips planned.  Possibilities.

Do you ever look up at the sky and notice the jet streams?

Do you ever wonder where these jets are going
or where they've come from?

looking west

This is a busy route by the look of these jet streams.

European flights heading to Montreal and Toronto
and points west.

Do you wish you were flying somewhere?

Tell me ~ where would you like to go?

I hope you have a very nice weekend.
Perhaps you're going somewhere on a jet stream.

Enjoy!

Pamela

  1. The skies are busy in your neck of the woods! Not sure what we are planning for summer vacation this year, it changes almost daily. My son graduates this June, entitling him to a special vacation, but he keeps changing his mind almost regularly. Wherever we go, I am so looking forward to the summer. Diane

  2. I'll spot one jet stream now and again, but not as many as this. I do enjoy travel, but it is nice to be home in May and June when things are springing up in the garden...and the weeds are ready for pulling!

    1. PS -I meant to tell you how much I like the photo at the top of your blog. Did you paint the picture, you clever woman?

  3. We have a lot of aircraft to watch as we are fairly close to CBF Trenton. We don't fly much anymore as we love to take the train and enjoy the relaxed atmosphere and wonderful food.

  5. I love the feeling of perspective and converging lines they give the photo.

Your shots made me realize how fortunate we are to be living where we live, now I can go outside and look up at the sky and see for miles...in the city I couldn't do that.

  6. Great photos . . . I would be on my way to London, over to the West to Cambourne . . . Drive up to Scotland . . . On to Wales, Pembrokeshire area . . . Boat across to Belfast, . . . On down the West of Ireland to our "love stay" in Bantry and then drive back to Dublin for visits, home to the states. Yes indeed . . . I think I have a plan . . . Giant's Causeway too . . . Now when is the question!

  7. Well, funny you should ask, Pamela.
I just left Castles, Crowns and Cottages blog
    (link here: http://wwwcastlescrownscottages.blogspot.com/)

So I am thinking.... I would love to fly to a spot in the Mediterranean. Greece, Italy, France?
You can drop me over any of those spots!
Wherever the water is pale aqua blue.
    I will be content!

    Great question.
    Love the post.
    :)

  9. I do wonder where they're all going. I know a little boy who would love this post and who thinks that if he only had a white streamer tucked in his waistband, he could be a jet with a nice long contrail. ☺

  10. I think I would like to tag along with Lynn. Or Austin, TX to visit my brother. I saw a spectacular jet trial this evening as the plan traveled west into the sun set. Should have grabbed my camera. Here the plains fly over us in their descent to DIA. Great photo.

  11. Good read! I also like to read up on flight reviews before I choose what to fly; only way to get real value for money IMO. Found a site that has started to cater to travelers curiosity and help knowing which is the best airline to fly with. It's a completely new website which is under revamping I guess by the looks of it. But users can still read and post reviews to help fellow travelers. Pretty neat: www.flyeradvise.com I guess if they do revamp in a big way we could be having a great info site on airline value for money! :D

  12. Hi Pam,
the jet streams are amazing. When I was a young child, I thought they are the streets for angels. To see a plane with a jet stream looks very much like holidays for me. But I don't plan to go somewhere else. Its nice here in summer, too.
    Best greetings, Johanna

  13. Gorgeous photos, Pamela! The combination of landscape and sky is wonderful. It does look like a jet highway!

  14. I love it when the contrails fan out and look like clouds... I'm not a big flyer, but wouldn't mind a short road trip, maybe to Colorado sometime. Beautiful captures, Pam. :)

  15. Those views do look like they have endless possibilities - beautiful ! We too live below the 'jet highway' and can always tell when the transatlantic flights go over, and like you, I look up and wonder where people are going. Our next flight is to Florida for a couple of weeks in Aug.

Loved all your reflection shots !

    Have a blessed weekend.

  16. Morning Pamela, sorry I am very behind with blogs and leaving comments. Great photographs of the contrails. We are near Farnborough so get quite a few planes going over although not usually directly over the house as we are near the Army ranges!!! We have the air show in July and from the garden we get a fairly good display.
We have rain this morning, the garden needs it, but hopefully it will clear up for the river pageant a little later which we will be watching on the TV. Jackie in Surrey, UK.

  19. Love your new header. And yes, I always get a sort of exhilerated feeling when I see a jet stream or a jet taking off, wondering where it's going and what adventures lie ahead.
