after the rain

We finally received some much needed rain on Tuesday.
We had showers in the afternoon and then thunder showers
in the evening.

It wasn't a lot of rain - 6mm.  Barely enough to wet the ground.

Looking up the road towards the north.

Looking east across the valley at the back light of the sunset.
Gorgeous pink and mauve clouds.
God's masterpiece.

Looking northwest where the sun was setting.

I love the silhouette of the trees against the sky.

Looking up the hill behind us, kind of west southwest, where
thunder and lightning were still occurring miles away.
I love the play of light on the hay in the field.

A peek through the clouds.

It is sunny, dry and clear today.  No humidity. Northwest wind.
About 23° C.
It feels like September.  But, not for long.

I hope you are having a wonderful week.

Blessings,

Pamela

  1. July 25 will go down in my book as the finest day of summer thus far. What a corker of a day! We had overnight thunderstorms night before last. Those are my favorite kind. I think all rain should happen overnight. =D

Now we never see such beautiful skies...too many trees and foothills. Loved seeing them.

  2. glorious views!! no sunset or sunrise will ever be the same & always will register in my books as a moment to remember in my books. small funny here. they always speak of vampires never seeing the sun again. well, i sort of like to think on it like that ... how would i feel to never see it ever again? so i will enjoy it while i can. take pleasure in the small things in life for sure. ha. ha!! we had a nice rain storm the other night. the sounds is just beautiful on the roof. know we need more ...but i am thankful that we had a little some at least. 12. Gorgeous clouds and sky! Great color! The passing of a storm can make for excellent photo ops! Too bad you didn't get more rain, though.

  15. Don't you love watching the clouds when storms come? Looks like your open plains allow for great storm viewing! And then when the sunsets come after a storm ... your camera has captured it well!
