honeysuckle bloomin' on the honeysuckle vine

I was visiting a friend  a couple weeks ago and we passed
by this cute old shed at her neighbour's.

I didn't notice on that day that there was a honeysuckle vine
at the corner of the shed.  I was too enamored with the
yellow door and the iron triangle hanging on it.

I was back again on Sunday and 'discovered' the beautiful
vine in bloom.  {It was the last time too}

Isn't it gorgeous?

But I do love that shed door too.  Don't you?

This is along the St. John River behind her house.  What a view!

Yeah,  I could sit and look at this view for a long time.
{the brush had been cut down since this photo - see below}

Do you see the sandspit off the island?

A great place to swim.

It was a lovely relaxing afternoon.

Did I mention that I LOVE that shed door?

Welcome to my new followers.
Thanks so much for visiting today.

I hope your day is blessed.

  3. Ohhhh...I'm seeing shed door note cards. That is a wonderful shed door all the way around. So quaint. So charming. What a difference the cut brush makes to the view. I wish more people believed in it.

  4. I love honeysuckle but mine has sort of dried up on the vine. I love that yellow shed door too. I recently saw a bright yellow front door on a house. It looked so sunny and welcoming. I'll have to think about painting mine.

  6. I love the colour of that door - not too bright but nice and subtle! I'd love to take a walk there!

  7. I love the colour of that honeysuckle especially against that door. We don't grow Honeysuckle here but I think I might have to change that next year.

  9. The yellow door is lovely, I can see why you like it so much. The honeysuckle is gorgeous, it must be very fragrant in that area. And then that view! Lucky doesn't begin to cover it.

  11. Yes, I would have photographed that door too Pamela - very appealing! The swimming area looks like a nice place and very easy on the eyes.

  12. Great little shed...we also have a sand bar...believe it or not...on Lake Erie at the cottage...our neighbour took their lawn chair and a cocktail out, and sat there!!!
    But ours is MUCH closer to shore...

    Enjoy your day!
    Cheers!

  15. I love that door too, and the come and get it triangle. Very clever.

    Love the view of the river...ah water.

    Yes it's hot and hazy around here, and it's not from pollution, though.

  16. That yellow is just beautiful! The little shed is perfect!

  17. I do love the yellow door. And the honeysuckle is pretty too. We don't have pink like that here in the south US. It is mostly white/yellow.

  18. My honeysuckle is along the back fence and the blooms are orange - I love this pink/yellow version. All the wild kind, prevalent here in the southeast, is a pale yellow or white, less conspicuous but smells divine!

    Lovely river views - I would love to have a house there!

    That door reminds me I need to do something with my potting shed door - it's in poor shape and needs work, like many other things around here, sigh!

    Hope all is well and you are getting a little rest from the delightful grandsons!
    Take care dear - hugs , Mary
