a backyard family barbecue

We had a family gathering a couple of weekends
ago and to keep it simple we had it in the

I set up a vintage table on the small deck
off the stairs to the back deck.  I used a vintage
table cloth, sunflowers and gourds, and a fall

This old granite ware tub was filled with ice for the
cold soda pop.

Sunflowers in a sap can.

I used disposable cutlery, cups, plates and napkins.
The paper plates and napkins are from Superstore.
(fall selection)

On the menu:
hamburgers, hot dogs, corn on the cob,
three bean salad, snacks and lots of desserts.
Simple fare.
A good time.

Sixteen present, thirteen absent.

We had such a fun time.

I hope we will be able to do this again some summer with all of our family present.

The evening ended with the full blue moon
rising and I captured this photo of it almost
'sitting' on the power line tower.

Beautiful memories.
