bicycle lock up

While in New York City I took this photo of many bicycles
locked up along the sidewalk and in front of this wrought
iron fence.  Bicycles are probably one of the faster ways
to get around that city!  :)

Linking with Friday's Fences.

I hope you have a great weekend.
I may be back before the weekend is over with something
Christmas-y.  :)

Blessings,

Pamela

  1. A nice find in front of the iron fence!
I'm guessing scenes like this are no doubt played out in most major cities.
I know my daughter-in-law rides a bike to the metro in DC and locks hers up with many others.

  5. wish we lived closer to things & could ride my bike every where. but it would take me miles upon miles to ride some where. it would take a long while to get any where. always tell the hubby we should move to a small close knit town. fun, i think. (:

  9. I'd be afraid to leave a bike there....even locked up. I just know when I returned, it would be gone!

  10. That reminds me of scenes in Denmark, where large crowds of bicycles go through the intersections at rush hour.

  15. This is a fabulous photo, Pamela! My son who lives in Manhattan contemplated getting a bike, but then he has to figure out where to put it in his efficiency three floors up. Thanks so much for stopping by.

  16. cool pic! that's a lot of bikes and must be a good way to get around the city. The most bikes I've ever seen was in Amsterdam where there must be two bikes for every person. Unbelievable but green!

  19. My son rode a bicycle to and from classes the entire time he attended college in Washington, DC, so I imagine many collge student find it an easy and inexpensive mode of transportation in NYC.

  24. I used to like to bike when I was younger but I prefer the car nowadays. My son, while going to U of T, biked everywhere except in the winter and now that he is in Illinois, he still bikes everywhere. However, once the snow comes, he will take public transit. He probably has a good set of lungs. I found your bird bath pictures interesting. Living in the Maritimes, one never knows from one day to the next what kind of weather we will have. Thanks for your visit and have a wonderful weekend.

    Blessings,
    Sandi
