the wind blowing snow across the fields
It is definitely hot chocolate weather here this week as the temperatures are in the minus double digits Celsius and there is a windchill factor added in as well.
Won't you join me for a mug of hot chocolate
and a cookie or two?
You will notice I'm using my snowflake mugs and plates today. Nothing fancy. They were purchased a couple years ago at SuperStore.
When you have been out playing in the snow ~ skating, skiing, snowshoeing, sliding, snowmobiling or just shovelling snow ~ it's nice to come inside for a mug of hot chocolate and a cookie.
Chocolate chip - oatmeal cookies
Do you play outdoors in winter?
This little birdie has his scarf and hat on.
I think he needs something on his feet though. :)
I am joining Sandi at Rose Chintz Cottage and helping her celebrate her 3rd year of hosting
I hope you will join us over there.
and also Antiques and Teacups for
Stay warm this week.
Blessings,
Pamela
Chilly here too, I don't know how to convert the temps. We are 10F . . . Snowing, blowing, blustery love!
ReplyDeletei love the little birdie. so cute. love his scarf - he look so warm. i went outside a while ago to check things out & i about froze to death. the warm has gotten so cold around here & there is another chance for snow at the end of the week. we will see??! i had hot chai tea after my outdoors adventure. it did warm me up a bit. nice!! i love your snowflake mugs & plates. so cute. very festive for this type of weather. neat ones!! i'm all smiles. ha. ha!! ( :
ReplyDeleteI'd love to join you for a cup of hot chocolate and a cookie. It's just the right day for such a treat; I like the snowflake dishes.
ReplyDeleteI too will join you and admire the snowflake design there. You know how I am about snowflakes!
ReplyDeleteLovely photos as always. Temps will really be dropping this week and I'm already cold! Enjoy your cocoa and cookie. I'd join you if I could.
ReplyDeleteFarmhouse hugs,
Cindy
I do like to get outside every day if it is only a few minutes, no matter the weather. It seems to revive me and lift my spirits, but coming in to a warm drink on a cold day is very satisfying!
ReplyDeleteThe hot chocolate looks wonderful. I'll have to make some a little later. I just made a half a pot of French Vanilla Coffee and I will enjoy every bit of it before I make something else that I am sure I will enjoy, too. :) Cookies? Hmm. I don't think there are any made down there in the kitchen. Perhaps I should go get to work and make some. ;)
ReplyDeleteWe have had several days indoors. It helps to have visitors drop by and the longer they stay the better. Every year we have animals who seem to return time and again to our fields. This year 3 moose are often in sight so I haven't been taking walks outside. It's been snowing off and on for 3 days. I think you are looking forward to visiting your daughter soon. I'm sure you must have heard how bad the highways were a few days ago. If you're ever driving north from Edmonton, we are just 20 minutes west of that infamous highway. Do stop by for a cup of tea!
ReplyDeleteOh yummy Pamela! The snow picture looks so cold with the wind blown snow. Perfect for hot chocolate! Your snow man is so cute! Love the snoflake dishes! Thanks so much for linking to Tuesday Cuppa Tea!

Hello Pamela
ReplyDeleteI have the same mugs and years before they came out is when I purchased the snowflake china dinner set. (all PC) The set came with cups and saucers so I was happy to find mugs with the snowflakes too. The snow was blowing so much yesterday across the fields I thought the huge wisps looked like ghosts. I'm sure you get the same eerie effect. Getting even colder tomorrow so a mug of hot chocolate sounds about right.
Judith
Oh...that does look inviting...
ReplyDeleteDid you bake those cookies???
They look thick and chewy...just the way I like them...if you were interested!!hahaha..
Pretty cold here as well...but the wind has calmed down...
Got the fixins' for a beef stew for tomorrow..in the slow cooker...
That oughta keep us warm...
Cheers!
Linda :o)
Well Pamela, same weather here, woke to-39 this morning.....brrrr, that cup of hot chocolate looks so hot and yummy, oh and I'll have a cookie or two......Keep Toasty Warm,Francine.
ReplyDeleteI'm suddenly hungry! Wonderful pictures and those look like the perfect mugs for hot chocolate on a snowy day.
ReplyDeleteBrrr! It's cold outside and hot chocolate is just the thing. I remember those snowflake mugs and almost got some myself, but didn't. I have to get rid of some as it is. I always enjoyed hot chocolate after the sleigh rides we have here on the Island. Actually, I'm not out much this time of year any more. Wintertime and I don't click very well. Your cookies look good too.
ReplyDeleteThank you for coming to my party and helping me celebrate. It's been lovely getting to know you, Pamela, and it's always wonderful to have you join me for tea. Hope you have a wonderful week and do stay warm!
Blessings,
Sandi
I think your snowflake dishes are perfect for winter and fun! I'll take an extra cup of chocolate please -- no cookie! Happy Tea Day!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! Why yes, I would like a cookie and hot chocolate - YUM! That first photo of yours is terrific. Love them all!
ReplyDeleteSince it's so cold outside, your hot chocolate station is very appealing! Those cookies look awesome.
ReplyDeleteLovely photos, dear Pamela. I would love to share a cup of cocoa with you today. I'm staying inside today and staying warm! It was -35 C with windchills at -44 C. That's the coldest it's been so far this winter.
ReplyDeleteHugs, Cindy
Hi Pamela, I would love to join you in a mug of hot chocolate and a cookie or two. Amazing how similarly we bring out just little touches of winter decoration to both our homes. Living in the south rather than snow county it may look stupid here. But hey, it’s my home and my winter mindset so bring on the plaids and little snowmen for a celebration of the season. Enjoy.
ReplyDeleteHot cocoa would go great with these freezing temperatures. We woke up to no power this morning. Brr. Valerie
ReplyDeleteSuch a sweet little hot chocolate set.. Love it.. xo
ReplyDeleteOh Pamela, I wish I could join you! I love those snowflake dishes for winter. Your cookies look so scrumptious, too.
ReplyDeleteI think I'll go make a hot chocolate!
ReplyDeleteYour dishes are beautiful! We had coffee today and pastries...mine was sugar free of course! lol And playing outside in winter here in Florida is different I think than what you mean! But I do love to be outdoors all year round!
ReplyDeleteThat windswept landscape looks so cold! But the hot chocolate sounds good. I'd love to come have a cup with you but I'm not going out in this minus zero weather. I don't go out to play or take pictures either in this weather.
ReplyDeleteStay warm!
What a pretty hot cocoa set! No, I do not play outdoors in winter any more than I have to. The last time I truly played outside was tobogganing with my kids twenty years ago! It's okay, though, I have happy memories. Now I happen to know that you make snowmen so you do play outside in winter.
ReplyDeleteHi Pamela,
ReplyDeletesilver snowflakes on white china look pretty elegant. I love the idea of hot chocolate and cookies after a walk through the winter. Your landscape photos are so nice. Thank you for sharing this post and for your visit with the sweet comment.
Best greetings, Johanna
That top photo reminds me a lot of Michigan! I remember the snow blowing and drifting on my grandparent's farm. Beautiful shot!
ReplyDeleteYes, it's definitely hot chocolate weather here in Ontario and will be for the rest of the week, I fear.
ReplyDeleteIt is so cold. Your cookies look delicious and now I think I may make some, too. Pretty mugs. Stay warm. Deb
ReplyDeleteI'm a big fan of hot chocolate...a mug is good for you, in so many ways.
ReplyDeleteAnd York peppermint patties....you know how much, desert island, and a never ending bag of those kind of love...
Love the snowflake cups, and I think I remember seeing them once while I was shopping.
Jen
So, so lovely! What a treat to peek on such a blustery winter January day! I am baking spice cake and oatmeal cookies this morning...smells yummy here too!
ReplyDeletehugs,
Joanne
Your snowflake plates & mugs are really cute. Love them! I bought the reindeer pattern at superstore when they had there sale. Love them! Your hot cocoa and cookies look delicious! It is bitterly cold here in Chatham, Ontario. Stay warm, Enjoy!
ReplyDeletehugs,
Lisa
Hot chocolate weather for sure. The deep freeze is here, but the sun is out to try and cheer us up a bit.
ReplyDeleteThat is a cute snowflake set of mugs and plates, just perfect for winter days like today.
I would love to join you. Even though I live in Florida, it still gets cold here. Everything looks lovely.

Pamela
ReplyDeleteI'd love to join you for hot chocolate!
Your dishes sure fit the winter season, for sure, with the snowflakes.
It was -12 C here today so I didn't even go for a walk.
It is so beautiful though.
Pretty chilly here today as well. We had a snow day today. My son was so confused when he woke up at 10:30am and realized he had slept in!! ;) I love your snowflake dishes. I remember those at the Superstore! The cookies look delicious!
ReplyDeleteYum. Now hot chocolate and cookies is a winter sport I could get into! I don't know about the rest. :0)
