November colours

Taken with my iPhone through the 'slightly' dirty windshield.

As the sun was lowering in the sky on Saturday we were driving home from town.  The colours of the brown fields and a few trees with leaves on them along with the darkening clouds on the horizon made for some pretty shots.

As soon as the sun disappeared behind the clouds the sky looked dark and foreboding.

The foreground is blurry as we were driving along the highway.

This is looking north.
I love the clouds in these pictures.

About to cross the dam.

Looking downriver (east) from the dam.

I love the calm water near the road and the pretty clouds.

November has it's beauty.

Even in the birdbath.

I hope you all had a good weekend.  I had an interesting Friday as I spent the afternoon (5 hours) in the ER after experiencing a severe abdominal pain {as I was about to eat lunch at a fast food restaurant!}.  In the end I had a bladder infection which I didn't even know about and I was also told it might have been a gall bladder attack!  Great.  I didn't eat the lunch I ordered by the way.  I've been watching my diet very carefully ever since and am even losing weight as I'm not eating chocolate.   Well, only a small portion as a treat each day and not the many portions I enjoy.  :)  {I am addicted}  I've also cut out eggs, cheese (dairy) and ice cream and fatty foods.  I really don't want to end up having surgery.  I was drinking a lot of tea lately too and haven't had any since Friday morning.   So, hopefully this will work for now.  I'll see the doctor soon and maybe get an ultrasound to see what's going on.

The weather is much colder but lovely sunshine today.  It's going to be a very cold night, well below freezing again.

I hope you have a great week.  See you soon.

Blessings,

Pamela

  3. Sorry to hear you have been unwell. Hopefully, the adjustments you have made to your diet will prevent any further attacks.
Stunning pictures. Aren't we lucky that our phones have cameras. Coming from a small island I am overwhelmed by all the space around the highway! The leaves in the birdbath look like jewels.

  4. Oh dear, Pamela! I do hope your gall bladder isn't giving you problems. (Although gall bladder surgery is not nearly as invasive as it once was.)
Lovely shots of your trip. I always think of November as being rather dreary but your photos aren't!

  11. Pamela,

Hope you're okay! Glad you are taking better care of yourself. Were you told that too much tea and all the other things you cut out were responsible for your condition? Hmm.

LOVE your cloud photos! I am addicted to watching clouds, could stare at them all day and snap away the time as they float by, ever so lightly. Your leafy puddle of colour is beautiful, too!

    Take care!

  15. Evening, sorry to hear about the bladder infection, I had one a few years back and the bladder stopped working so I had to have a catheter for about three weeks until the anti-biotics kicked in, not pleasant!!

You are very good to give up tea and chocolate my two special treats, I don't think I could live without either.

The photographs are lovely and love seeing your highway over the dam, it is wonderful!! ;-))

Hope you soon feel better. love Jackie in Surrey, UK.xx

  16. Your evening pictures are so pretty and crisp, Pamela.
I hope your testing comes out OK.
I had a gall bladder attack that lasted 45 minutes once.
It was unbelieveably painful. I believe a high calcium diet can
    contribute to these attacks also.
Good luck with your diet too.
    Blessings-Kimberly

  21. Oh yes, a very November sky! Today I have the shades pulled up on our entire bank of windows along the south of the house. Every little bit of light helps!

  24. Take care Pamela. I went 28 days without sugar, caffeine, wheat, dairy and corn. I actually never went back to the caffeine and wheat and have really reduced sugar. I feel so much better. I hope you get this figured out quickly.

  27. I am so sorry to hear about your health issues, hopefully it wasn't gall bladder.
Your photos are really beautiful! I haven't been out and about for four days, I sprained my knee and have been housebound. I am going to go for a short walk tomorrow, enough of this!
    Hugs, cindy

  31. November does have its perks too. Love the colors in the birdbath. I certainly hope that you have nothing serious. Many times we are the cause of our own maladies and maybe a change of eating habits is all you need. Stay well.
