the many faces of Christmas

vintage 1970's homemade pixie

There are a lot of faces at Christmas around our home.
Have you noticed that in your decor too?  I'm going to share some of the ones I found today then you can take a look around and see what faces you will find in your own home.

The above face is a little pixie doll that my late mother-in-law made.  She had the hard plastic face and fabric and put her all together.  Isn't she cute?  She usually sits under the tree or could be found on a shelf or in a chair.  I think she's a cousin to a familiar red suited character called Elf on the Shelf.  :)

This vintage Santa face was on my hubby's tree in his bedroom when he was little.

Angels and Holy family faces on the tree.

Vintage angel tree topper

Vintage angel from about 1960.

Vintage angel plays Silent Night - 1960's

There are birds everywhere.

And even a mouse!  (flocked mouse early1970's)

Vintage Santa pin 1950's

And lastly, but certainly not the least, my favourite Christmas faces which represent Joseph, Mary and baby Jesus.
This ceramic set was given to us by my late mother in 1979.
It also represents the reason for the season of Christmas ~ the celebration of the birth of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.

There are many more faces around our house at Christmas but they are too numerous to show.

I'll be back soon to share more Christmas decorations and our tree.
Thank you for visiting and your sweet comments, and a special welcome to my new followers.
Have a wonderful day!

Blessings,

Pamela

  5. What a unique post...the faces of Christmas. I do have lots of faces about, but had never given it a thought. Murray was a blessed kid to have his own bedroom tree. We didn't have one, did you?

  8. I've never stopped to think about the faces of Christmas around here Pam, it would be a good post to keep going with fellow bloggers. You have many nice antique decorations and I never heard of a Christmas tree in a bedroom before, only the main living area. Lucky boy!

  16. How fortunate you are to have vintage Christmas ornaments from your family, Pamela. They must bring such pleasant memories. The nativity set is beautiful!

I think I am the only one in my family who finds ornaments sentimental. I have collected so many I don't even have room for them all on my tree, yet a I seems ot buy more every year :)

  33. Well that is a collection of faces for sure, I like the vintage ones and seem to be drawn to them more often than not. I love your little pixie doll, she is so special and a nice keepsake. We spent about 2 hours looking for our nativity set today, I can only find one king, everything else is missing. I can't have that, so we are on the hunt for another set.
