Good Fences # 11

It was a gorgeous day last Tuesday - sunny and hot just the way I like it.

When I walked to the apple orchard on Tuesday I took pictures along the way.  This is looking through a neighbour's yard to their garden and some flowering trees in the distance with an electric fence in between.

A wild apple tree in full bloom.  You can't see it very well
but there is a fence in those trees and bushes.

This fence is on the outside of the apple orchard.
It's a 6 strand electric fence to keep the deer out.  NOT!
They still jump through the wires.  I've seen them do it.
And this past winter the snow was so high they had no problem jumping through or over it.

I'm a bit late but am linking with

TexWis Girl has a party going on with lots of fences being shared.

Have a fantastic weekend!

Blessings,
Pam

  6. Oh your neighbor let the rhubarb seed. My son's is seeding and I almost went over and pulled it, but I thought better of it! What a beautiful sunny day you shared. We had a nearly perfect day with only a morning shower.

  11. Are those rows of potatoes in that second photo? Almost looks like they've already been hilled. The deer can demolish a garden. Fortunately, they've not been interested in ours because it's surrounded by an alfalfa field and they do their munching there. Our neighbors have a 10' high woven wire fence to keep the deer out of their garden!

  17. I keep meaning to link to good fences and then find your post and say I forgot again.... ug.

Love your pictures as always so beautiful to take us on a walk with you this am while you snapped pictures of your trail. We have a few trees in bloom more pink than white, and I have that bright pink centennial crab apple in bloom - wishing the weather was sunny and warm like your pictures so I can go out and play with my camera. Without any deer here on the Island I have a hard time imagining them getting through the electric fences. With all the snow this past winter I'm sure walking over the fence was easy for them. Have a wonderful weekend

  18. I hope the deer never have an accident and land on the wire fence. I'm sure you and your hubby would be to the rescue though!

  19. Those deer are certainly agile to be able to clear the fence. The countryside looks beautiful!

  21. It is amazing that deer can get through almost any defences it seems. I hope that they are at least deterred! xx

  22. What a lovely walk you had to the orchard. It seems if deer want to get into some place they will find a way :)
