another sunset and an announcement

There is a wonderful patio restaurant at the Delta Hotel in downtown Fredericton.  The hotel sits on the riverbank and the outside patio, called The Dip, is a great place to dine when the weather is nice. It was a perfect evening one day in July so my sister and I went to The Dip and had lobster rolls for dinner.  Delicious!!  After dinner, the sun was getting lower in the sky so we got our cameras and went for a walk down to the river and then along the trail.  We took a few photos.  :)

At the river's edge on a beautiful evening.  St. John River.

As we walked along the trail we got glimpses of the sunset behind the trees.

Because we spent too much time on the trail we missed the sunset right on the water.  This is what we saw by the time we got back to the riverbank behind the Delta.

The colours were so soft and pretty on the calm water.

A jet plane headed into the sunset.

I hear that September starts in a few hours.  Did you hear that too?  Where did summer go?  We wait all winter and early spring to enjoy the beauty and heat of summer and now it's about gone.  I must say it was a really good summer in our province weather wise.  I've heard that September will be quite nice as well, with warmer than usual days, as we creep into autumn.  I'm glad we will have more nice weather to enjoy for a few more weeks.

Announcement!!
Our precious little 'bundle of joy' grandson arrived last Thursday afternoon - August 28.  His name is Liam and he is just adorable.  I am getting lots of snuggle time.  We are enjoying our visit with our 3 grandsons which is winding down all too fast as we head home this coming Thursday morning.  :(   I wish airfare wasn't so expensive in our country or a long lost relative would leave us a million dollars so we could fly whenever we wanted to.   We are truly blessed though and so thankful we can make this trip as often as we do!

So I wish you all a very happy September as we start to leave summer behind and head into autumn.
It'll soon be leaf crunching under the feet time.
See you soon!

Blessings,
Pam

  2. Congratulations on the arrival of Liam. Enjoy those snuggle times. I wish transportation costs weren't so high as well so that we could travel more to the west coast.

  3. Congratulations, Pamela - what lovely news! I feel the same way you do about the prohibitive cost of flying in this country. It really makes it hard to stay united from coast to coast.

  4. Congratulations on your new grandchild. I agree that airfare within Canada is really expensive. We would keep so many more tourism dollars here if air travel wasn't so expensive.

  5. CONGRATS on Liam's arrival!! I've been waiting with baited breath, and when you hadn't posted for a few days, I thought maybe... just maybe... he has arrived! I skimmed down through your post to the bottom to read the good news. Now I'll go back and read the rest of your post. And I agree, airfare is way too expensive...

  6. I've been enjoying photos of Liam on your FB, such a sweet boy to cuddle Grandma. Air fare and postage within our country are expensive and doesn't encourage us to travel and send cards.

Lobster rolls were all new to me when we visited the east coast last summer...and we so enjoyed them (on a patio in Maine). Beautiful pic's along the river.

  13. That's a very posh place for lobster rolls...have not had mine this year. My daughter-in-law has to get a lobster roll fix every few weeks in Freeport. One a year still works for me.

Get in lots and lots of hugs to fill your tank until next time. Three boys...what a great family!
