October is....

Although we're already four days into the month of October I wanted to share this photo I edited.  I shared it on Facebook but wanted to share it here with you too.

It's a cool drizzly day so I guess we're relegated to the house.  Doing laundry and baking brownies and maybe a little cleaning will be the order of the day.
Do you have any special plans for this day?

Happy Saturday to you.  Enjoy the day!

Blessings,
Pam

  1. Beautiful Pam...I love your poem and especially the colors of Fall that you have so perfectly put together in this gorgeous photo. I'm doing the same today...except the brownies...I think I'm going to bake some Apple Bread...a new recipe ... I'll let you know how it turns out ... if it's a keeper I'll put the recipe up on my blog... so off to the kitchen on this rainy Saturday morning in Maine.

  2. Your photo reminds me of the onld Ideal magazines that my grandmother used to get. Do you remember them? They were seasonal with beautiful artwork and photos and poetry filled with inspiration. I have my little 6 year old grand daughter with me today. She has a very long list of things to do: craft, watch a movie, ride the pony, go downtown to the antique stores--we have 5 on our little mainstreet. One has an old wooded horse drawn sleigh that she wants for Christmas (LOL). So we have to go see if it is stiill there. We will have a sunny day. Your plans for a rainy day sound good, so enjoy your day.

  3. Oh I could not agree more with all your thoughts on what October is. I have officially packed away my summer tops and pants and hauled out my sweaters only to find I need to purchase more. :) I absolutely love this time of year for big beautiful sweaters because as you know they will soon be replaced by a big bulky coat.... ;)

  4. Nicely done picture. Temperature dropped from 20 to about 5 here, so it feels more like late fall! Headed out to the market and a craft show.

  6. October is all the wonderful things you listed, Pam. I enjoyed your poem and the photo. It started off rainy here, but the sun is now shining. There was a tentative plan to go pick apples, but my friend has had a bit of glitch in her day, so it may be later on in the week.

  8. October is certainly all of those things Pam. It's a rainy weekend for us here in Ontario. The kitchen if full of delicious smells ... a small roast of beef in the slow cooker and lemon loaf in the oven. The laundry is done but drying in the dryer this week instead of outside :( And I'm working on adjusting a crochet bag I made that I was never really happy with.

  9. October is good! It also means the harvest is done over here...and maybe we can fly south with the birds. :) Enjoy the month!

  10. Hi Pamela,
It's a gray, drizzly day her in Maine today too so my day will look a lot like yours...some sewing, some cleaning, some grocery shopping, and happily, some blog visiting. The pumpkin photo you edited is beautiful...such detail.
    Enjoy your Saturday,
    Cheryl

  11. Lovely edited photo...

And you are so lucky to have Thanksgiving in October. Ours is way too late, way too close to the Christmas Holiday Season. -moan-

Rainy here too, in the upper NE of the US. Not an outdoor day. I made a pie though. ,-)

  13. Nicely done shot!

Yes, our thanksgiving is at a more suitable time of year, and far less of a show stopper production than our Yankee neighbours.

  15. That's exactly what autumn is Pam! It's my favourite time of year too. It's quite cold and drizzly today, so it's a good day to do some cleaning. A cosy evening in front of the fire with some cocoa and a good book!

  17. I love, love, love that photo! Gosh, that would have been perfect for the "still photography" photo challenge coming up. No big plans today. Mr. Jim has been tired and watching football. I talked him into taking a little drive. Now back home & doing laundry. Yeah, we're living life in the fast lane, LOL.

  18. A beautiful edit Pam! Lovely to see so many autumnal things in one shot. It's been raining here too but managed to get loads of the 'autumn clean' done yesterday when the sun was still shining. Just having a lazy day today. Take care x

  19. Your beautiful photo reminds me of all the pumpkins we saw as my sil and I drove through wine country in southern Ontario today. We visited the Fall Vintage Sale of Meg from Oliver and Rust and I bought some very cool items. We took the backroads home and visited some nurseries and shops.

  20. That's so cute, and I love what you have done to it. That's what I dislike about FB, I never got a chance to see it at all. No matter what I do to my news feed, it's not showing me the things, I would like to see.

  27. My favorite month of the year...and that's not just because my son was born on the 4th and because I love post-season baseball. It's just gorgeous. You put it very well!
