a boy and his horse

I'm sorry I've been missing the past few days.  I guess I've been busy and haven't been able to post.
I wanted to share a mosaic of this boy, Matthew and the horse, Ella that I took at Kings Landing last weekend.  I love the look of the horses eyes in the above photo.   She looks so dreamy eyed don't you think?  :)  I think it's her blonde eyelashes.  I don't know anything about horses but I'm wondering if this one is pregnant and that is why she wasn't on duty to pull the wagon loads of visitors through the village that weekend.  She looks a bit wide don't you think?

We've had some milder days this past week and weekend so the snow is slowly melting more each day.   I haven't seen any spring birds yet but the deer are on the move and playing in the field on the hill behind us and on the roads as well.   They must be happy to be able to get about better and find some grass to eat.

I'm going to link with Mosaic Monday today at Judith's blog "Lavender Cottage".

I hope you have a wonderful day and week ahead and I hope to be back soon.  Now I must get around and visit some blogs.  I'm way behind!

Blessings,
Pamela

  3. Pamela, I don't know much about horses, either, but I do love the color on this one. I'm wondering if she is just an older horse? Or you might be right...expecting.

  5. Lovely photos ! She looks to be a breed called Haflinger or at least that and a mix of Belgian both which are a very lovely breed they are placid and dont get spooked and are good with kids and beginners . I dont think she is preggers she looks to thin in the back end she does how ever look to be quite the age and maybe she cant pull the wagons for very long horses develop Arthritis when they get old . I am just guessing here from how she looks in the photos all though a beauty still . I have been around horses all my life was raised training them as well on the farm and with a friend who is a trainer lol ! Hope spring is there now and your snow is melting . Thanks for sharing , Have a good day !

  8. I see what you mean about the dreamy-eyed look … the boy and his horse have the sweetness of a Norman Rockwell painting.

  32. There are few things more beautiful than a child and a horse - such a sweet photo! Love the mosaic, Pam. And I sure hope your snow disappears. I know we're not done with snow yet, but it sure is nice to have this reprieve.

  33. This is a beautiful horse, Pamela! The boy looks to be very attentive of her.

We have had a very warm week here, but we heard tonight on the news that a storm is brewing in the Pacific that might bring us cold temperatures and snow again. Spring is very changeable, that's for sure! I want to plany flowers but I'm waiting until May when hopefully the chance of frost will be over.

    Have a very Happy Easter!
