spring is bursting out all around us

Lacey green flowers on the maple tree against the gorgeous blue sky.

Spring is blooming and bursting out all around us this week.  We had some sunshine and rain that brought out the leaves on the trees, the early blooming tulips, and the green grass that will have to be mowed.

The view from our living room window Friday morning.

The maple trees are starting to fill in our view.

A cropped shot of the pond across the road and the St. John River Valley in the morning sun.  Can you see the soft leaves and buds on the trees?  I LOVE this view!!

My neighbour gave me this poppy plant last summer and it has really grown this spring with several buds.  These were covered with raindrops the other day.

Yesterday the tulips were opened up and so beautiful!

I love this bi-coloured one.

The white tulip before it opened with rain drops.

This creamy white one looks like a rose when it opened.  Beautiful!

The Tree Swallows are busy gathering mud and twigs for their nest in the birdhouse.  I'm going to enjoy watching them in the weeks ahead.

It's a gorgeous day here.  I have lots to do inside and out but spent an hour talking with my neighbour in the yard this morning.    I've got to get going and make some headway on that chore list.

I hope my Canadian friends have a wonderful and safe Victoria Day holiday weekend ~ the kick-off to summer for us.  Sunshine tomorrow and Monday but rain on Sunday for us in New Brunswick.

Enjoy the weekend my friends!  Thank you for visiting.

Blessings,
Pamela

  4. So glad you have spring - your photos are lovely. I finally bought flowers at a greenhouse yesterday, but it's still cold at night here - supposed to be only 32 degrees Monday morning. Think I'll wait a few days to plant.

  14. Everything looks beautiful! The greens so fresh and so many different shades. We are a bit ahead of you..five days maybe...one day small buds, now the leaves are about mid-size. The light has already changed again and I am realizing how much the trees have grown and are shutting out the light. The tulips are so delightfully varied. Hope that they last well for you. My one lonely daffodil has been blooming for over a week...seems to love the cooler temps. Have a great weekend!

  27. As a NB gal born & raised (not too far from you actually)...and now calling PEI home...it amazes me how much further ahead the growing season is there. We are approx. 3 weeks or more behind...my tulips & daffodils are just breaking ground...although a few Hyacinth are blooming! Things are finally starting to "green up"...and hubby root-tilled the veggie garden yesterday.

I started a brand new blog about our home & life in Prince Edward Island...please feel free to stop by anytime & get acquainted.
