it's lupin season

The tall purple, pink and white spires of lupin are blooming along the roadsides and in fields this week and they are beautiful.

Of course I cut a few stems to bring home and enjoy.....

while enjoying our deck on this beautiful afternoon.

We've had great weather since Friday - 3 days in a row!!
I'll be back to tell you what we did on the weekend but I wanted to share these today while they're fresh.  :-}

I am using a bit larger type font today.  What do you think?  Can you read it better?  Let me know in the comments.

I hope you're enjoying the last of the weekend and that the week ahead is super.

Blessings,
Pam

  1. Yes, easier to read for my old eyes...especially on the iPad.

The lupines are so pretty in clusters that way. I have been planning to take a photo of the lupine patch here, but I think I waited too long.

Hasn't the weather been great? Good air and sunny days. We are expecting a drop to the low 60s with rain on Tuesday, but the posies need water and I need a break from watering and a chance to work in the sewing room.

  4. Lupins are one of my favourites...love how you captured the busy bee too! Our lupins are just starting to come....I always pick a couple of huge bouquets! Right now I am enjoying the beautiful aroma from my lilacs! And your font is very easy to read...like it a lot. Very cool & windy here today...only 10 degrees, but the drizzle has given way to sun. Have a wonderful evening!

  5. Such beautiful flowers!!! They are gorgeous aren't they. I didn't have trouble with the font before and it is fine now, but I always zoom my screen in to read blogs, so I am not really very reliable for an answer on that! xx

  9. Lupines are so lovely. I've seen them very rarely here in some gardens. Yes, on the roadsides is where I find them sometimes.

  10. I remember all the beautiful lupines when we drove through the Maritimes years ago. For me, I really appreciate the larger font. Some otherwise interesting blogs I simply can't read, so don't bother. Yours is good.

  11. Acckkk! I didn't realize until just 2 days ago that the lupins are out! I must get out with my camera, but I noticed yesterday that the usual large patch I visit every year is not there this time- don't know if they mowed it down or what.. so I'll have to go searching... :(

  14. How lovely to see Lupins growing in the fields. I planted some in my garden a few years ago, but the slugs ate them all. I do love blue flowers, so I tried Delphiniums and the same thing happened. I love your blue theme header, and yes the bigger font is easier to read. Enjoy your week

  15. The font looks great! Your lupin photos are gorgeous. They are so lovely growing beside the highways as we saw in Nova Scotia and on PEI this past week, too. I still have one plant in my garden here at home that's blooming, too. So glad the weather is warming up for you.

  20. If these grew around my area, I would be out everyday getting a few more photos. How absolutely gorgeous they are! It's always and extra added bonus when there is a lovely bee or two :) I think your larger font is great...anything that helps me see better is GOOD!

  23. Your photos are beautiful Pamela and oh how I love this season every year when it comes around. When the Lupine starts popping up all along the roadways it is just like a miracle to me the way they just multiply and the profusion of color is outstanding. Never saw anything like this in Massachusetts guess that's just another reason why I like the North Country so much. Enjoy you day ... I'll never get tired of seeing these blooms.

  30. The lupines are so beautiful, Pam! I love the different colors you found. Thank you for your congratulations on the birth of my new granddaughter! PS: I LOVE the new font size--my eyes are not the sharpest so the larger font is easier to read.I should do the same on my blog.
