Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays

Hello everyone!

Wow.  I can't believe December 25 is almost here  and 2017 is almost over.  It has been a good year filled with blessings for us.

I was out west visiting our daughter and family (3 little grandsons) for 10 days this month and got to help out with the household while all three boys were sick with terrible colds.  You know how it is with little ones being in school and the germs keep getting passed around.  We also got some Christmas in with picking out and decorating their tree.  Murray was working in Winnipeg and joined us for a few days at the end of his time there.  He's looking forward to some time off over Christmas and New Year's before he heads out to "Winterpeg" again.  I say "Winterpeg" as it's 'affectionately'  known for its bitter cold prairie wind and temperatures in the wintertime.

Look at those dear little faces.

The deer have been enjoying digging in the snow for food which is, so far, easy to get at.  It will be a hard winter for them.

While we were away our first snows came and blanketed the landscape and we arrived home to a winter wonderland.  Strangely, Calgary was experiencing unusually mild temperatures well above freezing while I was there and their snow was all gone.  They did get a storm yesterday and will have a white Christmas though....and so will we!

Winter's lengthening days and low sun make for interesting shadows on the landscape.

Wednesday morning after a fresh snowfall.

The view on a recent snowy day.

I hope you enjoy some cozy days over the next week or so as we celebrate the season.

I wish you all the joys and blessings of the season as we celebrate the birth of a Saviour.

Merry Christmas
and
Happy New Year!

Pam

  7. Your golden Christmas tree against that pale blue sky is heavenly. Your grandsons are close enough in age to be good playmates...they appear to play well together. They sure are cute. I didn’t hear that you caught the dreaded cold so that’s good! You and Murray have a blessed Christmas and another wonderful year...

  14. It’s that time of year for sickness, our family out west was just finishing with stomach flu when we arrived, then grandson had cough which developed into strep throat. Thank goodness for medication, all are healthy now. Your grandsons are so adorable. Happy holidays to you and Murray. Enjoy the season.

Your trip must have been fun with those three delightful boys - oh how they've grown! Hope you managed to escape the colds!
Lovely pix - as always - of your home decorated for the holidays and the landscape dressed with snow. None here yet and quite warm - 70F today - then a little cooler for Christmas.

Sending best wishes for a very Happy Christmas - and a healthy, blessed New Year.
    Hugs - Mary

  20. Very beautiful Pam! We had snow then rain - so just a skiff left. No real storm though - just a lot of wind.

Our family is all coming on Boxing Day for dinner and presents. Except our UK family - we'll miss them as I'm sure you'll be missing your Calgary So glad you pre-Christmas had a good visit with them!

Merry Christmas Pam to you and yours - and many blessings in 2018!
