tea party baby shower

A very sweet young couple in our church are expecting their first baby next month and some of her friends gave her a tea party baby shower.  Sweet "E" became a close friend from the first time we met.  She is a beautiful Christian inside and out.  And....  She love teacups and china and tea parties!  I am excited to meet her baby boy soon.

In keeping with the tea party theme, the young ladies decorated the cozy fireplace area of the church's foyer with tables and chairs, table cloths, teapots and real china teacups, and lilacs.

The tables were centered with teapots full of lilac blossoms.

There were table cloths on each table along with the china cups and saucers and the
beautiful teapot center pieces.  There were 3 games played with the cards you see,
including filling in a 'bingo' card with what gifts she might receive.

The baby bassinet is vintage from her husband's family so it is very special.
A friend made the lovely padded lining.

Fresh fruit cups ~ a sweet idea!

More fruit, muffins and cake.

A wonderful variey of teas from China.

These paper balls were strung on twine across the ceiling.  The balls were made from
cardstock cut in strips and glued together.  Sweet and simple.

"E" opening a beautifully wrapped gift.

"E" has 2 sisters and guess what???
They are expecting babies this year too!
Needless to say, the parents are overjoyed with this triple blessing.
Imagine having 3 grandchildren (your first!) in one year!

This was one of the lovliest showers I have been to.  The young ladies did
a beautiful job and everything was simply done.

So ladies, if you have a baby or bridal shower to do, this may give you
some ideas.  This shower was on a Saturday morning so the simple menu
of fresh fruit and muffins plus tea and coffee is perfect.

I hope you enjoyed visiting the tea party baby shower.

I am linking today for Tea Time Tuesday at
Blessings,

Pamela

  6. No doubt about it - Maritime women know how to hold a shower. That was lovely - there are so many over-the-top showers and it was refreshing to see one that looked like such fun.

I adore what has been done 'E' must have been SO pleased and the vintage basket is just stunning what a lovely gift to make new quilting for it. I love that there was so many different tea cups and tea pots all wonderful.
