old fence boards and issues with followers

There used to be a board fence behind our property
but we took most of it down as the trees provided
the necessary 'fence' once they grew.
There are a few sections of fence left that are now
weathered and gray.  They were originally stained
redwood and you can just see a hint of it left.

There are clumps of moss growing on the fence and
the snow collected on these.
I love the texture of the wood, moss and snow.

It's a bright sunny day here but very cold.

The "snow moon" last night was so beautiful and bright.
Did you see it?
The landscape was lit up as bright as early dawn.

Thank you all for your visits and comments on my
blogposts.  And thanks to my new followers.

I am having a difficult time understanding all the new
changes coming with Blogger and Google and the
new options.  I tried to set up the new
Linky Followers on my blog but missed a crucial
step in the process and don't know how to get it to
show on my blog.  Can anyone help me?

I even emailed the designer of this new Linky Followers
and asked him how I could cancel what I'd done so far
but I haven't heard from him yet. I'm sure he's very busy
answering a lot of questions.  I'm at the point that
I could just as easily give up my blog all together but,
then I'd miss out visiting with each of you dear friends.

Perhaps my brain is too old to figure this out.
I get discouraged easily and although I've read lots
of helpful advice on this, I still am in a muddle.
The blog  atthepicketfence.com did a great tutorial
on the new Linky Followers if you are interested.

So, my head feels like the old boards above.
Gray, dried out and moss covered!

Tell me what you are going to do about this change.
Have you decided on which program you are going
to adopt?  I dread the thought of having to add every
one of my favorite blogs to this new format.  Why can't
it be easy??  Are you having the same issues?
I'd like to hear from you.

Other than all that,
I hope you are enjoying a beautiful day.

Blessings,

Pamela

  2. It is my understanding from reading several bloggers that the change on the Followers won't be affected at all if you are using Blogger. Just those that are using Wordpress, etc, something other than Blogger. Hope I understood your question correctly and hope this helps!

  3. Sorry...I forgot to say that your photos of the moss with the snow on the wood are really wonderful, love the textures.

  4. Hi there, I'm like a bird with her head in the sand-I don't want to worry about all these new changes so I pretend they aren't happening-I know that is a bad attitude. Seriously though, for us gals who are middle age and beyond(o.k. so I'm a senior)these changes are just about enough to undo a girl. I am still staying with blogger so I hope that is all I need to do.
I love your fence and especially the snow & moss together.
    Thanks for sharing.

    1. Thanks Noreen. I'm glad I'm not the only one. I did manage to get the new Linky Followers up on my blog and it shows 3 people following me on it. According to Cheryl, above, all I need to do is follow them on Linky if I want to keep on getting their posts and they have to follow me back (if they want). It is overwhelming to me but I think I'm getting it sorted out. Thanks for commenting. Pamela

  5. Wonderful photos, love the moss and snow on the trees.

I am with you too Pamela with the whole disappearing of the followers. I know we blogspot folks will not be affected, for now anyway. I am still trying out a few other options. Diane

  6. I don't know what you're talking about so I hope that means blogger is exempt from this. I'll keep my eyes and ears open though. Love your fence photo!

  7. I'm so sorry you're having such a hard time, but this is the 1st I've heard about any new changes... I don't like change & things were working just fine, so why do they feel the need to change what isn't broken all the time? It's beyond me!!!
Is this change listed on our dashboard? Where did you find the change?

  8. As I understand it, this only affects WordPress and Typepad bloggers and not blogspot or any blogs from Blogger itself. I hear you...sometimes my head feels like moss and snow and old fencing. What a beautiful shot showing those textures!

  9. I love the moss and snow on your old weathered fence. I am hoping that we are not affected if we use blogger-so I haven't given it much thought.

Hope you have a good evening!

  10. Haven't heard about Linky followers, and I'm just sticking with the followers option at Blogger.
I love the fence photos, very rustic

  11. Hi Pamela! I like your pictures too. A lot of bloggy things kinda drive me crazy. I still just do the minimum to keep on blogging. I think I'm just going to keep on doing the Blogspot followers gadget until it goes away. If ever.

  12. Hi Pamela
Love the rustic fence with snow and moss.
I've been thinking about the new Linky follower too but I'm going to just keep the Blogger one as is. I've bookmarked all my favourites in case I lose some friends.

  13. Oh.. thank the Lord I read your comments.. I almost took the big one when I read we had to change something else.. Honestly.. Between Google Chrome and my dashboard disappearing and not being able to upload my pics for a couple of days I don't know if I can face any more changes..
I am sticking to Blogger and praying that they leave well enough alone...
Thank you to all of your followers who left such good comments and thanks to you for mentioning it...
I always love your beautiful photos...
    Take care my friend..

  15. Hi Pamela! Love your snow snaps and the snow on the moss looks like cotton! :)
I'm just not quite sure what to think about the upcoming changes with the friends connect thingy. I do know all of us using blogger, and you are, we'll be okay. It's the folks using Word Press and Type Pad who won't be able to see us on their blog lists. I think we'll still be able to see them, but I'm just not sure!
    Be a sweetie,
    Shelia ;)

I haven't even begun to set up the new follower format.
For me, it will be a nightmare, I'm sure. How soon does it have to be done?
I love the look of the weathered wood too. And you captured the perfect photo with the moos and snow clinging to it's front.

  17. Hi Pamela - my understanding is that the changes will not affect those using Blogger. The reason for putting up the Linky is so that those who use Word Press etc can follow you that way, as they will lose the blogs that they're following when the changes come. You won't lose your list.

  18. Hello Pamela:
Well, we trust that nothing will have to be altered for those like us who use Blogger as, for certain, we should never be able to 'get our heads' around it all. It never fails to amaze us that we managed to publish a blog at all!

But, what a marvellous image to accompany this post. Those grey, weathered boards are so very textural. Far more interesting that technological bits and pieces!!!

  20. These images of snow on board and moss are incredible Pamela!

I did the Linky Follow thing and it took a couple of missteps before I figured it out. All this change is confusing!!

  21. I am SO confused too...and I don't like change...especially if it is working just fine...I'm gonna check out that tutorial...thanks!
