interesting Fredericton architecture

The main entrance doors to Christ Church Cathedral.

I am sharing a few buildings of architectural interest in downtown Fredericton NB for Inspiration Thursday whose theme this week is architecture.

Downtown landmark - the gothic styled Christ Church Cathedral.
Opened 1853.

The Provincial Legislative Building, Fredericton, NB. - 1882

The new Fredericton Convention Centre - 2011 and on the left is
The Fredericton Playhouse - 1964.

These are some of the many beautiful historic buildings in downtown Fredericton, the capital of New Brunswick.

I'm joining the party at Mary's Little Red House

Blessings,

Pamela

  7. Top picture, the arches' depth is interesting to look at, the pattern is repeated ... I'm not describing well what I'm noticing! Anyway, nice pictures of a variety of edifices!

  8. Love the gothic architecture at the church best and am struck by the attention to details the different ways that decorative things were done to differentiate between the walls and the columns and those arches are very impressive. I don't know that I've seen any of these buildings to recognize them, though I've been in Fredericton a few times since 1853, but not since 2011. ☺

  9. Christ Church is beautiful . . . love the very large scrolled stone and stained glass window. I liked seeing architecture from various facets of Fredericton. I enjoyed this . . . have you attended Christ Church?

  12. Hi Pamela - thanks for your visit! Great photos today - Christ Church is beautiful but I was so impressed with your snow pictures at Killarny Lake. They were gorgeous. I love looking at snow. You know, it's not all white - there are so many colors reflected in the snow and in the shadows, too. That's a lovely place to go hiking with your friend!
