a basket of sunshine

my mother-in-law's apple basket with her initials

The sun is shining this morning after 4 days of rain and gloom.

I stepped out the front door and breathed in the crisp air and felt the warmth of the sun on my face.

The morning sun has moved from straight across from our house to the east southeast and is so much lower now, casting long shadows across the landscape.

The lawn is littered with fallen leaves.  For some reason they aren't as colourful yet but they are dropping.  Too much rain and wind?

The weekend weather looks very nice and perfect for an adventure along the coast.  I'm taking a bit of a break for a couple of days and I'm taking my camera with me.   And Murray.  And our friends.  I'll share more when I get back.  You know there'll be a  few pictures.
See you soon.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Blessings,

Pamela

  1. So happy you now have some beautiful weather - especially for your weekend trip. Know you'll take some great shots to share with us. Todays pics are beautiful.
I leave Wed. - will hopefully be able to check blogs along the way although may not have time to comment - there will be so much to visit and see in those beautiful cities!
Have a great time on the coast dear Pamela.

    Hugs - Mary

  2. That odd time when the trees are doing some mental shifting and trying to get the "turn color/shed leaves" thing straight. Do trees think?)
Snow fell on still green aspen here yesterday. It looked quite odd and I felt a bit embarrassed for the still in summer mode trees.

  6. We still have rain today over here, it is coming down sideways. The dog and I have been sitting in the window waiting for it to stop so we can go out.

  8. I think we may have one of those Autumns where the leaves stay on the trees until late October -- just a hunch.

  10. So glad that you're getting into some sunshine! I had no idea that you were in the soup. We have had some of the finest days in a long time. Enjoy your time away...

  11. Love the basket filled with yellow and the fall colors on the tree. Leaves are falling here too without much color. We are blaming it on the drought and the wind. It is very windy here today and the temp is 88 degrees. More like an August day.
Have a wonderful time away and am looking forward to your photos!

  14. Have a fun time away. Your weekend has nice weather predicted, ours has rain. But we've had a gorgeous couple of days of sunshine, so I won't complain. Too much.
Such lovely brightness sky in your photos.

  18. The autumn colour seems slow to develop here too this year. We came back from a week away and the roses seem to have gone for another burst of flowering. The garden looks like it is still August!

  25. Isn't that sunshine glorious after all the rain this summer/fall ! Love that sunshine in a basket. We've now enjoyed sunshine for the 4th day - with lots more to come (if the forecasters can be believed). And the crisp mights are quickly bringing fall colour.

Enjoy your time away - we'll be looking for what you've seen.
