criss crossing the sky

Criss Cross # 1 ~ November 8

Criss Cross #2 ~ November 10

Jet contrails and a few clouds make for interesting and beautiful sunsets.
The back of our house faces west so I'm always watching, the skies especially at sunset, to see what will happen.  I captured these sunsets 2 days apart while preparing dinner as the sun sets about 5:20 these days.

This one was taken November 15, 2013.

One of my favourites.  ~ November 15, 2013

Keep your eyes on the skies for some glorious sunsets.   They happen all year around.

~~~~~~~~~~~~
We had a dusting of snow on Friday morning that melted by noon.  It looked so pretty on the trees and little puff balls lay on the branches and dead blooms.  I didn't get outside to take photos but got a couple through the window.
One of my containers all dressed for winter.
Not quite a winter wonderland but still pretty.
I hope you have a great week ahead.
Blessings,
Pamela
  2. Hi Pam! How lovely! I saw some jet streams the other day that made a perfect cross! :) We got a little dusting of snow (love that) and we're supposed to wake up to an inch of snow in the morning. I'm really excited about that! ;) Hope you're doing well.
    be a sweetie,
    Shelia;)
  5. Those are lovely sky photos Pam. You can let your imagination get away to wherever those planes were heading. We've had some snow that past couple of days, not huge amounts but enough to get the snowplows out to clear the roads once in the morning. I'm glad I got my winter containers done last week and got some photos of them without snow. Yours looks pretty with some snow on it.
  6. You have spectacular views, Pam. Our sunrise is occluded by the barn in the east and a housing subdivision to the west, so to get really good views we must drive out of town. I would see beautiful sunrises reflected on the mountains in the early mornings, but I was on my way to work and never took the time to take photos, so I will now enjoy yours. Have a great week.
  9. Gorgeous skies! I have a better view of sunrises rather than sunsets which are a few minutes drive to get a great view. I can't tell you how many times I've raced down the Point Rd to catch the sunset over the water at Point Prim Lighthouse. Always worth the drive!
    We have a little more snow than you folks right now - but it's melting already. I heard rumours that it's supposed to be 16 tomorrow! Maybe I'll finally get my garden cleaned up :)
  12. They are beautiful skies...I always find myself wondering where they came from and where they are going. What did you decide about covering your deck? We are getting another dusting. Enough to slick things up real good.
  14. Love your container of greens and red-osier dogwood. I must go for a walk and gather some for myself. I'm feeling jealous that your kitchen faces west so you can see beautiful sunsets as you prepare your evening meal.
  15. Pamela...these are just lovely shots! I really have to go play hide and seek for a pretty sunset....I seek while the sun hides! There are so many tall trees around where I live and it sometimes is hard to find a open field. When we travel back to Ohio to see family, it is as flat as a flitter and you can see forever ...I kind of miss that! Also, I really like your new holiday banner. I hope you are having a good Monday :)
  21. I love looking up at the sky and seeing something like this. I took a similar one last week....just one though! We looked at the radar and saw the rain in your area. Hard to believe you're getting rain instead of snow tonight! Sweet hugs!
  22. Very pretty shots of the sunsets. Every time I see sunrise and sunsets on various blogs, I think I need to make a better point of getting out there to observe them here.
    The snow looks so pretty on your winter arrangement.
  24. I've so enjoyed our skies since moving into the country....the sunsets and sun rises are so awesome.
    We generally have a couple or 3 snows in the winter...never really BIG snows.
    Regarding the pool, it belongs to our son (we live behind them) and he has a cover he uses at times.
  27. It's such a breath of fresh air to come here and see your lovely photos. We had a dusting of snow too but it's so cold that it hasn't melted yet! I do believe winter has arrived whether we are ready or not.
