Valentine tea time

WELCOME!!

Valentine's Day is almost upon us again and although I don't go 'all out' for this day I did buy a couple of things at Michael's to decorate with.  I got this pretty sparkly heart garland there the other day.  There was one left and I kept looking at it and wandered around then came back to it and bought it.  :)

I have a pink and white theme going on in the china hutch with lots of roses on china and a few vintage Valentines.  The sweet heart shaped dish with the blue birds is by Royal Copely.

While the sun was shining on the Monday afternoon I decided to do a teatime post for Valentine's Day.  I still have some shortcake cookies in the freezer so they matched the rose theme perfectly.  I have 3 beautiful rose teacups out for our tea today.

This pretty teacup is 'Centennial Rose' by Royal Albert.  I don't know the history behind this cup and it's special name.  I always thought it was to do with our Canadian Centenary in 1967.   Perhaps Ruth of Antiques and Teacups may know.

**************

This teacup is also by Royal Albert and is from the Random Harvest Series.  It is called 'Somerset'.

**************

I believe this is my new favourite teacup.  It's another by Royal Albert called 'American Beauty'.  There is just something about these beautiful pink roses and the gold edging that I love.

Which one is your favourite?

*************

I put this one on a pedestal.

I found the red berry heart at Michael's too.  The tea towel is from Dollarama and the soft pink tea light holder I bought at Savour Decor, my friend's gift shop.

I have a few other Valentine things I'll show you later in the week.
It's been pretty nice here for a whole week.  No snow!!  But it's been very cold instead.

Today I'm linking with Sandi for Tea Time Tuesday
and Ruth for Tuesday Cuppa Tea.

Maybe you'd like to visit these two ladies and see their beautiful tea parties.  You are welcome to join me and the others celebrating tea time this week.

Have a blessed week.

Pamela

  1. I love your pretty teacups! I posted the American Beauty last week I think...a fav of mine. As for the other, not sure about which Centennial it is...would have to look it up. Love your garland! I sure do miss having a Michael's close! Thanks so much for linking to Tuesday Cuppa Tea!

  3. Such lovely Valentines touches! Your teacups are very pretty as well. Glad that you haven't had any more snow - I was beginning to think your house would be totally buried! xx

  4. All of your teacups are beauties, Pamela, but my favourite is the American Beauty and I am on a search for it. I have that same garland and I cut it up to hang the hearts on a tree a couple of years ago. Love the sparkles! Your cookies look yummy and so pretty with their pink icing. Thank you for joining me for tea today.
Isn't it wonderful to have a break from a snow storm! The one they were calling for tomorrow we aren't getting after all. I'm thrilled about that! Happy Valentines Day, my friend!

    Blessings,
    Sandi

  5. Hi Pam, nice to have tea with you this week. Pretty teacups, towel and heart wreath for added whimsy. I sure wish we had JoAnne's and Hobby Lobby in Canada - the craft items are so nice in these stores.

  7. Are you expecting snow? It started snowing Saturday and hasn't stopped yet.

I do love your tea cups and I like the way you placed one on a pedestal. I also have the Centennial Rose and I was told the same as you.

  8. Ah, they're all such beautiful teacups, but I think I like Somerset the best. Looks like I'll be late for tea, but those shortbread cookies look fabulous! I hope you saved me one. ;-)

  9. I love any tea cup with roses and would probably choose the one on the pedestal. Will we use the very best when we come for tea? Will the cookies be thawed? heehee! Thanks for making my afternoon beautiful! Hugs, Diane

  21. This is my first comment. I've been enjoying your blog for several months now and I live in British Columbia. My favorite tea cup is American Beauty, my mother's set. When she passed many years ago she had 103 pieces. Each sibling kept a piece to remember her by but we sold the rest.

  22. My favourite is the Somerset teacup because I like the flowers' cheery colours, as well as the teacup's shape.

  25. I love your Royal Albert tea cups, Pamela. I don't go all out for Valentine's Day either but I do like to receive a nice little box of chocolates from my husband ;)

  26. Your Royal Albert tea cups and saucers are just delightful. I have a set with the tea pot with the creamer and sugar...but I can not remember the name right now. I think I told you before but it slips my mind right now. You certainly know how to set things up for a beautiful photograph! Each picture is lovely.

  28. A very sweet sight for sore eyes, (cold, windy, stormy outside as I type), Pamela. Your teacups are all very pretty, but my favourite is the 'Somerset', for its combination of colours and charming pattern.

Hope you have a Happy Valentine's Day!

    Hugs,
    Poppy

  30. Pretty teacups! So delicate and fine. The only decorating I have done is put a few stuffed hearts into 2 antique bowls and call it good enough. :)

  39. Hi Pamela,
I wish I lived close enough to stop by for a "cuppa" with you! We did just book a week at Cobscook Bay, ME Stae Park in August and will take a few days in BC. Maybe we could get together for a real cup of tea then!
Hope you're staying war...more snow coming in on Thursday???

  45. That's a lovely trio of teacups, Pam. My favorite is the American Beauty. I have one just like it. I bought it used, several years ago, as a reminder of an aunt who had that same china set and who passed away very unexpectedly. I think of her and her daughters when I use it.
I've not had a chance to do any Valentine decorating, but I hope to get to it sooner rather than later. Your Valentine touches are just right!
