Kings Landing Sugar Bush part 2

Here are a few more photos of our visit to Kings Landing Historical Settlement this past Saturday for the Sugar Bush weekend.   Enjoy.

That is a huge snowdrift on the left that is covering the fence.  The wind blows right off the river from the northwest so the drifting was incredible.

The young lad on the left is Matthew and he was handling the horse, Ella, so that children could pet her.  Ella was quite vocal and kept whinnying very loudly and often.  Such a beautiful horse.

I love this photo.  My favourite of the day.

The sun is shining for the second day in a row and the temperature is going to rise to +4 C so the snow will be melting slowing again today.  Tomorrow is another story - wet snow followed by some rain and +6 C - which will see more snow melt....I hope!

Thanks for visiting and leaving a comment.  I appreciate knowing  you were here.
Have a wonderful day!

Blessings,
Pam

  2. These pics feel like a step back in time! Wonderful.
I'm hoping to visit my brother-in-law's sugar-bush this week. and Pamela, I sure hope you are blessed with more spring-like temperatures soon! We had a big snow-melt last week so it is a little easier to bear the frigid temps we have today!

  6. Yup, right here! The sun is glorious today. I am going outside (on the deck) for a little cleani-up to include the removal of the Christmas wreath. =D I am a little concerned about rain...so much snow. Oh well, rain comes in spring. I really like your favorite, too, the young lad with a horse...can't go wrong.

  9. There are sugar bush activities going on around here, yet they say it is a slow season as the night temperatures are dipping way too low for the sap to run.

  10. The snow drifts reinforce how much snow you've gotten. I like those horses. Ella looks quite sweet.

  15. Pam, such lovely scenes. Would love to have seen these horses in person. When we go to state fairs, we always look up the clydesdales in the horse barns.

  22. Still feels/looks like winter doesn't it. I know the shift to Spring has begun and with temps as you described, the sap will start to flow. I like the horse and kids shot too.

  23. Wonderful photos of this beautiful place! Funny. When I think about Kings Landing, I always think of "The Game of Thrones." This is way different.

  24. Hi Pam, Your photos are beautiful as usual. I was there on Sunday with my grandson and daughter in law and it was absolutely freezing--the coldest sugar bush weekend I can remember but regardless we had lots of fun. The horses were a big hit here too.

  27. If we should come across to your province some time, King's Landing will definitely be on my list of places to see. You're lucky you live close enough to visit it throughout the year.
I feel guilty telling you we have few patches of snow left but north of us looks like your terrain and our daughter that lives there has had enough of snow and winter like yourself.

  28. One of the things I miss from Ontario is the sugar bush. There is really nothing quite like the cold snow, the smell of the smoke and the syrup, and then the tasting!

  29. Pamela, all that weathered grey, and white snow...my trigger finger itches to be there with a camera. Lovely shots, and yes the horse is a favorite.
