frosty beauty

Frosted Heuchera leaves.

We've had a lot of frosty mornings the past month or so which gives such a pretty effect to anything it touches.

Frost and ice in the birdbath.

And frost on the rooftops.

Soon it will be white with snow on everything.

I took this photo this morning about 10:00 with the sun shining on the cut fields on the island in the St. John River.  It's kind of hazy and dull.

Today is a mix of clouds with sunny breaks.  Kind of dull and dreary but for the few rust and gold leaves on the trees I can see out our window.  A typical November day.  At least it's not too cold.

Our lawn this morning.

The breeze is loosening the last leaves from their branches and they are fluttering down to the green grass carpeting it yet again.  Murray did some mulching and bagging with the push mower a couple days ago but it needs to be done again.

I hope you are having a good week so far.
Thanks for stopping by.

Blessings.
Pam

  3. Very pretty! I'm not ready to let fall go yet, but our leaves are dropping, too, and the colors are fading fast into just browns. It's supposed to rain tonight and tomorrow with the possibility of strong storms. That will drop a lot more leaves, no doubt.
    Have a nice day!

  14. Pam, can you believe that we have not had frost yet? The news said that Oct. was the warmest ever to be recorded. It finally has cooled down and a bit windy, but still not bad. Winter will be here soon enough. I do love the beauty of it, but when it comes to cold; I'm pretty wimpy! lol!
    hugs,

  15. That frost is so beautiful, especially on the Coral Bells, which are beautiful anyway, especially when they take on those lovely autumn colors. I can't believe that you didn't have the beautiful weather we had...I am so enjoying this long, beautiful autumn and am so grateful for the mild, pleasant weather.

  18. The frosty mat of leaves is a very pretty sight. Autumn seems to be disappearing rather quickly this year. We had our first frost last night, but it was a light one. Enjoy these autumn days, Pamela!

  23. Love these photos Pamela - you never fail to excite me with your nature shots around your home.
No frost here yet and the garden has taken a turn for the better with all the recent rain (see my pix of the angel trumpets today), but, like Murray, Bob will be out there as soon as it dries up - leaves need raking and the grass is long again so another mowing necessary.

    Happy week - Mary x

  28. The very first photo is stunning, but all the other frosty pictures are such beautiful captures. Like you I like the frost on the morning, there are little artworks to discover. Our mornings are quite chilly right now, but not frosty. I really love when the sun comes up over all the frost - it's magical.
