May days are here!

June 2015 ~ Lilacs and Swallowtail Butterfly ~ a pretty combination.

Happy May Days to you!  May is the month of blooming everything here and I can hardly wait to see (and smell) the pretty blossoms on all the plants, trees and shrubs that will be budding in profusion in the next few weeks.  It is my favourite time of the year I think, as it is so colourful and summer is on its way.

We had lovely weekend weather with sunshine and pretty clouds and mild temperatures (if you were out of the wind).  Saturday we worked around the yard and Sunday we went for a drive to Houlton, Maine and had supper at a popular truck stop near Woodstock on the way back home.  I took a few pictures along the way then fell asleep so missed most of the drive to Woodstock.  Typical for me.  Head bobbing.  Stiff neck.  You know what I'm talking about.  lol

A long 'feather' in the sky over our backyard on Sunday afternoon.

The same 'feather' as we got on the road.  This and the next photos are all drive by shots.

The St. John River.  The clouds were amazing.

The off ramp at Woodstock.  This is where I woke up.  :)

As you can see by the scenery there isn't much any green in our area yet.  The fields are still brown and the trees bare but getting heavy with buds, so it won't be long.   I'm sure if you look closely you can see bits of green among the dead grass.

Thank you all for visiting and commenting.  I hope you have a great first week of May.

Blessings,

Pam

  1. There's not much green, but I can see that May has brought springtime to your part of the country, and soon you'll be treating us to the sorts of images that make NB "Canada's Picture Province'.
I had to smile at the image of you sleeping through part of the drive. Despite the sore neck, that sort of sleep is just the best for me!

  4. I took a lot of sky shots yesterday. It was so beautiful, though it was 90 when I got in my truck afterward...and it was sitting in the shade.

  6. Absolutely beautiful shots, Pam. You do a great job on your photography. I have a new camera and kind of slow in learning all the jibber jabber associated with some of it. Just so happens our son has one just like it and he has been helping me. We are finally getting some sun after days and days of rain. Now hope we get the May flowers. Blessing.

  15. I am worried about our corner this year. Still brown, leaves not yet out, no real flowers to speak of, and another week of below normal temps. A gal could get discouraged. I'm going to have to create my own spring. Some familiar scenery to me and I do love the river drive...so lovely!

  16. Isn't the cloud feather unique! The green is slowly coming here too and I'm looking forward to colour in the garden.
Did you grow up tying May baskets to people's doors as many of our American blogging sisters are reminiscing about Pam? I never heard of this until I read it on blogs - sounds kind of fun.

  21. Beautiful cloud feathers in the sky. I'm glad the weather is starting to warm up a little bit for you. I smiled at the napping in the car - I tend to fall asleep on long trips, usually right after lunch, and often awaken with a sore neck!
